WINTER & SKI HOLIDAYS

Dear winter holidaymakers and ski-friends,
Many large ski-arenas are available in Bulgaria. The most popular are Borovets, Pamporovo and Bansko.

The resorts offer good skiing from December to March if the snow conditions allow. For beginners, semi-advanced and advanced skiers Bulgarian ski-resorts can be good choice.

In the most resorts ski and snow-board-rentals and ski and snow-board-schools are available.

PAMPOROVO

The high mountain resort of Pamporovo is situated at an altitude of 1650 m right in the middle of the Rhodopes - the vastest mountain range in Bulgaria. It is about 260 km away from Sofia and 84 km from Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city.
A wonderful pine forest and sunlit meadows surround the resort. The winter is long and mild, with plenty of sunshine and the pleasant breeze from the Aegean Sea.
The ski runs are covered with snow from December to May and are excellently maintained as well as equipped with drags and lifts.
The 93-meter high television tower dominates top Snezhanka and has a fascinating panorama up to the Aegean Sea.

BOROVETS

Borovets is the oldest Bulgarian winter resort. It is situated 1300 m above the sea level on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain amidst a hundred -year old pine forests. It is only 70 km away from Sofia.
An internationally known ski center, Borovets offers all modern facilities for skiing and recreation. The ski runs start at 2500 m and are wonderfully maintained. They are suitable for racing, slalom and ski jumping. The cabin lifts, drags and ski lifts are always kept in good repair.

BANSKO

Bansko is a small town hidden in the eastern slopes of Pirin Mountain. Of all Bulgarian mountains Pirin is probably the only one which has managed to preserve to the greatest extent its virgin nature. Its hillocks are covered with fir and pine. This is also the country of the edelweiss. Bansko is 160 km away from Sofia and is famous for its long sunny winter and excellent conditions for tourism.
